As a stimulus to our new English narrative, we ventured into the woodland area to complete a ‘senses walk’. They felt the crunchy brown leaves and squelchy, muddy grass under their feet and heard the birds chirping loudly above their heads. The children jotted down ideas for when they come to write their own stories inspired by Little Red by David Roberts and Into the Forest by Anthony Browne. Both of these books are based on the classic tale of Red Riding Hood. I certainly hope that these strange scratches on some of the trees doesn’t mean there is an actual wolf on the loose at Rosehill!
