Children from Rosehill Ready made bird feeders using pine cones, lard, string and bird seed.
We used our sense of touch, sight and smell to describe what all the materials we used felt, looked and smelt like.
We discussed the importance of helping wildlife during the winter season and appropriate areas to hang the feeders- considering height and location- for easy access and making sure they were away from predators.
Children then worked as a team to build shelters, used from branches of a dead evergreen, so that they could sit camouflaged, in order to observe the birds.
What a great afternoon we had! Well done to all the children for listening, following instructions, Working as a team, keeping safe and helping wildlife 😀👍
