Below is an communication from the Trust regarding a merger with another Trust. Please read and send any comments through the website liked at the bottom.
We hope that you are well during these difficult times.
We are writing to you as the Chairs of the Acorn Trust and the Wesley Trust; two multi-academy trusts with a shared ethos and vision for education.
As you may be aware, Rosehill Methodist Primary School has been part of the Wesley Trust since 2018.
Over the last 12 months the school and the wider trust have been developing collaborative approaches with the schools in another Methodist Trust, Acorn Trust. For your background, collectively there are five schools across the two trusts. These are:
|Name of School||Trust||Location||Ofsted Grade||SIAMS Grade|
|Bedford Hall Methodist Primary School||Acorn||Wigan||Outstanding||Excellent|
|Westleigh Methodist Primary School||Acorn||Wigan||Good||Outstanding|
|Nutgrove Methodist Primary School||Wesley||St Helens||Outstanding||Outstanding|
|Rosehill Methodist Primary Academy||Wesley||Tameside||Good||Outstanding|
|Wesley Methodist Primary School||Wesley||Bury||Good||Good|
The partnership has had a positive impact, and it has become increasingly clear that there is more we can achieve if we start to formalise this working relationship. This will help us to sustain our development and achieve our long term aims.
As a result, after much thought and discussion, both Boards have decided that a formal merger would be beneficial. Our proposal is that both Trusts create a new identity called the Epworth Education Trust.
We are, therefore, starting a listening period with our community to gauge wider views on this. This will be the start of a longer process which, if things proceed as we expect, will mean that there are lots of further discussions – but your thoughts at this stage would be hugely appreciated.
We have developed a microsite that provides further details about why we are exploring this as an option and answers some of the questions you may have. To find out more, please visit www.epwortheducation.co.uk. The attached document should also help explain what this will mean for your school in more detail.
Please do take the time to read the information, and do get in touch via the website if you have any questions. If you would like, we will do all that we can to get back in touch in two working days.
